Bonnie Jeanne Dowd was born Sept. 21, 1930, in Asher, OK, to Virgil and Stella “Jeanne” Coffey. She passed away on Feb. 1, 2026. She lost her dad when she was two and her mom when she was nine and was raised along with her little sister, Peggy, in the country home of her grandparents, Tom and Elvira Dowd, in Asher. Her mom’s younger siblings, Homer and Delbert Dowd, were also in the home. She married Theadore Jones in Ada, OK on July 2, 1948, and were happily married for 68 years, until he passed away in 2017. They had one son, Michael Jones, and a daughter lost at birth, Evelyn Kay Jones.
She is preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, sister, Peggy Elms and daughter-in-law who was a daughter at heart, Debbie Jones.
Those left to cherish her memory are son, Michael Jones of Norman, two granddaughters, Amy Jones of Earlsboro and Ashley and her husband Brent Edgemon of Oklahoma City, her grandpuppies, Hannah and Stetson, and other loving extended family.
Visitation will be from noon - 8 pm Feb. 5, 2026, continuing through to time of service at Cooper Funeral Home with family gathering to greet friends and loved ones from 5 pm - 8 pm. Services will be held at 2 pm. Feb. 6, 2026, at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel, Tecumseh, OK with Reverend Mike Craig officiating. Burial will be next to her husband, Theadore, at Resthaven Memorial Park in Shawnee, OK, under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home.
