Carl Edmond Packwood passed away on Mar. 2, 2026 after a battle with cancer where he fought with incredible courage and strength. Carl was born in Shawnee, OK, on Jan. 7, 1965, to Fred and Allecia Packwood. Carl graduated from Shawnee High School, Seminole Junior College and East Central University. He worked for Ford Motor Credit and in banking for many years including stints with BancFirst and Vision Bank. He served many community organizations including: South Central Industries, Shawnee Kiwanis Club, Gordon Cooper Technology Center Education Foundation, Shawnee Civic and Cultural Development Authority, Seminole State College Foundation, Seminole State College Alumni Hall of Fame, Shawnee Forward, OBU Shawnee Advisory Board, Committee Member for NJCAA Region II Tournament, Economic Development Committee for Shawnee Forward, Shawnee Board of Education, Pottawatomie County Historical Society, Friends of Scouting, Last Frontier Council of Boy Scouts of America, Shawnee Chamber of Commerce, Tecumseh Chamber of Commerce, Council of Bond Oversight for the State of Oklahoma, Youth and Family Resource Center, Pierre F. Taron Jr. Leadership Award, Shawnee Educational Foundation, United Way of Pottawatomie County, Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office Foundation, Sauk Business Enterprise Board for Sac N’ Fox Nation and the Shawnee Alumni Association.

Carl was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, and brother-in-law Brad Haynie.

He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years Cindy Danner Packwood, daughter Taylor Jean Packwood and fiancé Trevor Terry, siblings Lynn Packwood (Donna), Lori Packwood Haynie, and James Packwood (Rochelle), in-laws Bobby and Carol Danner, “sis” Vonda Muirhead, Amy Colley, and Debbie Berlin (Dave), many special aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as too many treasured friends to mention.

Services were held Mar. 6 at the Shawnee High School PAAC. Following the ceremony, Carl was laid to rest at Resthaven Memorial Park. A Gofundme account under the name Carl Packwood has been set by the family to help with medical and funeral expenses.
