Daniel Adrien Taron passed away June 4, 2026. Daniel was born on Oct. 2, 1983, in Oklahoma City, OK, to Tim and Carolyn Taron. He attended Bethel Elementary School and later Family of Faith, where he graduated in 2002.
Daniel devoted his life to serving and mentoring young people. His career began in high school as a Program Aid for the Youth Development Program at the YMCA of Shawnee and continued full-time after graduation. He also became actively involved at Family of Faith, first serving in a support role with the worship team before eventually playing guitar during worship services.
Daniel’s passion for ministry led him to serve in the Fishers of Men outreach, mentoring boys in their faith and counseling them at summer camp. Seeking to make an even greater impact on the lives of children and youth, he joined the Boys & Girls Club in Shawnee and later served briefly in Sevierville, TN, as a Program Aid in both summer and after-school programs. Through these roles, Daniel influenced countless young lives and helped many develop a relationship with Jesus Christ.
His dedication and leadership led him to serve as Executive Director of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Oklahoma and later as Unit Director of the Boys & Girls Club of Oklahoma City. During this time, he also responded with The Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Services to communities affected by tornadoes across western Oklahoma.
Daniel was preceded in death by his father, Tim Taron; his paternal grandparents, Pierre Sr. and Lelia Taron; and his maternal grandparents, Irvin and Anita Burrough.
He is survived by his loving mother, Carolyn Taron; his sister, Ghislaine Washburn and husband, Brian; his brother, Mark Taron and wife, Shantel; his brothers, Walker Cross, Thaylo Lamb, and Noah Lamb; his uncles, Joe Taron and Leonard Taron; and his aunts, Mary Teresa Williamson and Joan Jackson.
He was a loving uncle to Hunter Washburn and wife, Kaitlyn; Taryn Holmes and husband, Jeremy; and Madalyn and Saydi Taron. He was also a proud great-uncle to Reylynn, Hayzen, and Kaydence Washburn, and eagerly anticipated the arrival of a great-nephew whom he was looking forward to meeting.
A Wake Service will be held June 11 at 6:30 pm at St. Benedict Catholic Church. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am June 12 at St. Benedict Catholic Church. Following the Mass, Daniel will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery.
