Shawnee resident David Blochowiak, 75, passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at his home.
Graveside services were held May 18, 2022, at Calvary Cemetery.
David was born November 28, 1946, in Shawnee, OK, to Peter Joseph Blochowiak, Sr. and Helen LaVerne (Slaymaker) Blochowiak. He graduated from Shawnee High School in 1966 and attended Seminole Jr. College.
David served in the United States Army in Vietnam, earning the Bronze Star and receiving the Purple Heart. He retired from Tinker Air Force Base after many years as an aircraft painter. He enjoyed birdwatching and working outdoors.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a stepdaughter: Janetta Tesch.
Survivors include his two children Janay Blochowiak of OKC, and Crystal Blochowiak of Las Vegas; two grandchildren; six great grandchildren; step daughter Jelessa Green; siblings Peter Blochowiak, Bob Blochowiak, Ed Blochowiak, Marion “Gib” Blochowiak, and Veronica Appolonia; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
