Delores Butler Kernell Colbert passed away on Dec. 14, 2025. She was born on Nov. 20, 1952, in Shawnee, OK, to Roland and Beverly Jean (Longhorn) Butler.
Delores graduated from Earlsboro High School with the class of 1971. After graduation she stayed in the Shawnee area until 1999 when she made her home in El Reno.
She was an enrolled member of the Sac and Fox Nation of Oklahoma and a descendant of the Absentee Shawnee Tribe.
Delores was preceded in death by her parents; son, Gregory Kernell; sister, Pam Rolette; and husbands, Cecil Kernell and Don Colbert.
Delores is survived by her son, Roland Kernell of Oklahoma City; grandson, Noah Kernell of Tahlequah; granddaughter, Courtney Flickinger; six sisters: Gwen Switch of Moore, Janet Jeske of Shawnee, Fredith Blanchard of Little Axe, Lana Butler of Shawnee, Vicki Wilson of Shawnee, and Edwina Butler-Wolf of Shawnee; and many more.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, Dec. 22, 2025, 10 am, at AE Funeral Services Chapel, 603 W. Independence St., Shawnee, OK 74804. Chaplain Victor Cope will officiate.
