Diane Loraine Lawerance passed away Aug. 18, 2025 in Shawnee. Diane was born Nov. 6, 1951 in Shawnee, OK to Donald and Lola May Duvall. She attended Shawnee schools and married the love of her life, Billy Lawerance on May 30th, 1969. After living in New Hampshire for a short time while Billy was in the Air Force, Diane and Billy returned to their hometown of Shawnee, OK.
Family was everything to Diane. She was a loving and devoted mother to her two boys, Jeffery and Billy. She was also a dedicated member of the Central Church of Christ in Shawnee, OK. Animals were another passion of Diane’s, especially her dachshund dogs, the most recent named Patches. Additionally, Diane was a loyal Sooners fan and also thrilled to see the Oklahoma City Thunder win the championship this year. When she wasn’t rooting for the home teams, you could find her enjoying a good movie or dining at a local restaurant.
Diane is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband Billy, son Jeffery, son Billy and wife Sarah, Granddaughter Kate, and sisters Cathy Harmon, Janice Walls and Teresa Story all of Shawnee, OK.
Services were held Aug. 22, 2025 at Walker Funeral & Cremation Service. Following the ceremony, Diane was laid to rest at Fairview Cemetery in Shawnee, OK.
