Ellis Duane “Sonny” Bowden passed away Oct. 18, 2022.
He was born Jan. 21, 1937 in San Jose, California to Ellis and Wilma Bowden.
Sonny married Patricia Ann Swope on March 15, 1957.
Sonny was a hodcarrier by trade.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Ann Bowden; his son, Steven Bowden; his parents, Ellis and Wilma Bowden; 2 sisters, Peggy and Jewel; and brother, Bill.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children; 2 sons and 2 daughters-in-law, Gregory and Jean Bowen, Sr. of Columbia, LA and Michael and Melissa Bowden of McLoud, OK; 2 daughters and 1 son-in-law, Karen and Elvin Brown of McLoud, OK and Kellie Bowden of McLoud, OK; 1 daughter-in-law, Ann Bowden of Santa Clara, CA; 19 grandchildren, Aaron, Kimberley, Melissa, Gregory, Katherine, Teresa, Hailey, Elizabeth, Victoria, Jamal, Isaiah, Christina, Robert, Timothy, Shannon, Jonathan, Jeremy, Brandon and Nate; many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; 1 sister and 1 brother-in-law, Patricia and Ray Williams of Morgan Hill, CA; and many loving friends and extended family.
Services were held October 22, 2022 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Phil Thompson, Liberty Baptist Church officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh. Sonny will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife at Fairview Cemetery at a later date.
