Gary Brewster passed away on June 23, 2026, in Shawnee Oklahoma after heart problems. He was born on Feb. 8, 1950, in Elk City, OK, to Ed and Bea Brewster. Gary graduated from Canute High School. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree from Central State College.
Gary married Sandra Plemons on July 31, 1971, at Eastside Baptist Church in Elk City, OK. They lived in Edmond for one year before moving back to Elk City and beginning their family. Gary first worked in the oilfield until going to work for Mc-Loud Telephone Company until his retirement in 2010. After retirement he was Manager of a pawn shop until his second retirement in 2016.
Gary is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Brewster of the home; daughter, Tamera Brewster of Oklahoma City, OK; son and daughter-in-law, Justin and Valerie Brewster; brother and sisterin- law, Verland and Patricia Brewster; three grandchildren, Olivia Brewster, Delilah Chastain, and Danny Chastain; two nieces and one nephew; and many loving friends and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Ruth, and her husband JC Gadberry.
Services were held June 27, 2026, at Emmanuel Baptist Church in McLoud with Pastor Monty Thompson and Pastor Mike Taylor officiating. Burial followed at Dale Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
