Guy E. Kaniatobe, 51, of Norman, Oklahoma passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2022 in Norman.
He was born November 26, 1970 to Cecil and Marjorie (Sloan) Kaniatobe in Lawton, Oklahoma.
Guy was raised in Oklahoma City. He lived most of his adult life in Little Axe, Oklahoma.
He worked in the oilfield industry and concrete construction.
Guy was a proud member of the Absentee Shawnee Tribe. He enjoyed fishing, music, being outdoors, and taking walks.
He was preceded in death by his father, Cecil Kaniatobe; and sister, Wilcey Kaniatobe.
Survivors include his mother, Marjorie Kaniatobe in Norman; son, Guy W. Kaniatobe of Norman; daughter, Tiffany Page Kaniatobe of Norman; four grandchildren; sisters, Deloris Coochyamtewa of Arizona, Cecilia Kaniatobe of Oklahoma City, and Karen Kaniatobe of Norman; brothers, Michael Sloan of Nebraska, Clayton Kaniatobe of Arizona and Charles Kaniatobe of Oklahoma City; and other extended family and friends.
He was especially proud of his grandchildren who affectionately called him Poppa.
Services were held Monday, May 9, 2022 at Cornerstone Indian Baptist Church in Little Axe with Pastor Bryce Scott officiating. Burial will follow at Absentee Shawnee Tribe Burial Grounds in Little Axe under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh. Following burial a potluck meal will be held at the AST Community Building next to the cemetery.
