    Imogene “Jean” Martin-Hand, 83, of Shawnee, OK, passed away peacefully after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s on May 10th, 2022, surrounded by her family.

    She was born to Cecil Ely & Wanda Davis on October 27, 1938, and grew up in Duncan, OK.

    Jean is survived by her sister Barbara Phillips; children Karen McDonald, Johnny & Roger Hays, all of Shawnee, OK and Melissa Wickersham and husband Rodney of Oklahoma City; step-son Anyia and wife Dana Hand of Oklahoma City; 18 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

    She is preceded in death by her parents Cecil & Wanda, her husband Ernie Hand, step-son Ernie Hand Jr, daughter Michele Martin, sisters Ruth Black and Gloria Brown, and her grandson Cody Martin.

    Jean Martin retired from lucent technology and enjoyed camping, and crocheting, was a master at crossword puzzles, and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was a wonderful mother and nana who dedicated her life to improving the lives of others. She was a strong woman who faced every challenge in her life with courage and dignity. She was a source of inspiration to us all and will be deeply missed.
