Janet Delane Elizabeth Smith passed away on Sept. 17, 2026.
Janet met the love of her life, Gary Lavaughn Smith, at a skating rink when she was just 14 years old. What began as a young love grew into a lifetime together. Through the years, Janet and Gary built a marriage and a family filled with love, laughter, memories, and devotion. Their love story became the foundation of a beautiful family legacy that continues to grow with every generation.
Janet was the daughter of Charles and Myrtle Byus. She was one of nine children.
Janet is survived by her beloved husband, Gary Lavaughn Smith; four daughters: Tracy Delane Cole, Shelley Renee Bolles, Amy Dawn Cole, and Misty Lavaughn Branch; three beloved sons-inlaw: Keith , Michael , and Gerrit; grandchildren: Thomas, Jacob, Garrison, Caden, Landen, Dalton, Peyton, Brayden, Aubree, Dolan, and Heston; and 15 great-grandchildren: Riley, Harlow, Emberley, Creedence, Charlee, Finley , Michael, Casen, Traeger, Elliotte, Jordynn, Crew , Everett , Elijah, and Henry .
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Myrtle Byus, and two precious grandsons.
Services were held at Cooper Funeral Home in Tecumseh, OK, on Sept. 23, 2026.
