Joel “Jeffrey” Baptiste passed away October 9, 2022. He was born on March 19, 2000. He grew up in Shawnee and attended Shawnee High School and worked for Don’s Plants, Amazon, and Hobby Lobby. Jeffrey is survived by his mother: Melissa Baptiste, father: Virgil Owens, sisters: Journie and Jade Owens, brothers: Justice Simpson, Jamir and J’Kobe Owens, grandparents: Paula and Richie Grinnell, Charles Baptiste, Joyce Baker and Rocky Buckmaster, aunts and uncles: Brandon and Stephanie Baptiste, Eric and Kari Thorton, Monty and Tedda Owens, Ty and Stephanie Tramble, his girlfriend Claire Sullivan, and numerous cousins, countless loved ones and friends.
Viewing will begin 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 13. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, October 14, 2022 at Walker Funeral Chapel (201 E. 45th St., Shawnee, OK) with Rev. Ty Tramble officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
