Joseph Barton Myers passed away on July 23, 2025. He was born on June 8, 1941, in El Campo, TX, to Glen and Elma Myers. Joe graduated from Chandler High School in 1959. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business from the University of Oklahoma. Joe began his career with OG&E as a meter reader and worked his way up to accountant and eventually district manager before retiring.
Joe is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Anita Myers; sons: Doug Myers, Timothy Belcher (Rhonda), and Jim Belcher (Trina); grandchildren: Morgan Myers, Mason Myers (Shelby), Chance Wallace, Morgan Askin (Brian), Blakely Woods (Carson), Mia Belcher-Wynn (Nate), Hannah Myers, Emma Myers, and Samuel Belcher; and great-grandchildren: Lyla and Mav. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Kay Heck (Johnny); sister-in-law, Sue McCollum (Tony); and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his son, Joseph Scott Myers; his parents; and his brother, Jim Myers.
Services were held July 29, 2025 at Resthaven Funeral Home. Burial followed at Oak Park Cemetery in Chandler.
