Karen Sue Dickenson celebrated her life with family one last time before passing away on her 86th birthday on November 6, 2022. She was born on November 6, 1936 in Shawnee, OK to AJ and Alice Farris. She married Lonnie “Poncho” Dickenson in December 1957. Karen was a bus driver for North Rock Creek schools, a cook at Bea Britton’s restaurant and lastly retired after 20 years from Allen Bradley/TDK. Karen is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son James, and grandson Jason.
Karen is survived by her brother and wife, Lynn and Lucille Farris; daughter and husband Gina Hurley Gall and Bob Gall; son Jerry Dickenson; nephews John and Adam Farris and their families; grandchildren Stephanie Hurley and partner Dustin Breshears, Rebecca (Hurley) Smith, Daniel Hurley and wife Christine, Makayla Turner, and Bryce Dickenson; great-grandchildren Gage Smith, Collin Smith, and Amelia Hurley; and her lifelong best friend Miriam Gaines.
Arrangements are under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home in Shawnee with a service and burial scheduled for family and friends on November 12, 2022 at 11:00am.
