Ivalene Linda George Cook, age 94 passed away on Jan. 24, 2026. Linda was born on Aug. 5, 1931, in Farris Township, AR to Earnie and Destie (Ballentine) George. She graduated from Okemah High School.

On July 17, 1954, Linda married Alton Cook of Shawnee, OK. Together, they shared 53 years of marriage and raised five children. Their marriage was built on love, grit, and commitment and remained strong until Al’s passing in 2008.

She worked in the food service industry for most of her adult life. Her final two jobs included working at Wendy’s in the early 1980s, followed by more than 30 years at Braum’s, where she remained until her retirement in 2010.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Earnie and Destie George; her husband, Alton Cook; her daughters, Cindy Norris and Debbie Acebo; and her sister, Lorene Goode.

She is survived by her children: son Kenny Cook (Linda) of Pearce, AZ; daughter Shelley Hernandez (Nati) of Douglas, WY; daughter Anita Roberson (Archie) of Shawnee, OK; and son-inlaw Jerry Acebo of Shawnee, OK. She also leaves behind 19 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews—each of whom knew exactly who was in charge.

A visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, located at 44909 Highway 3, Shawnee, OK 74801, on Jan. 29, 2026, from 9 am to 7 pm.

The funeral service will take place at the same venue on Jan. 30, 2026 at 10 am.

The committal service will follow at Garden Grove Cemetery, located at EW 110, Prague, OK 74864, on Jan. 30, 2026.
