Lynn J. Baucom passed away, after a courageous battle with heart disease, on Mar. 17, 2026. Lynn was born in Monet, MO in 1945.She graduated from Shawnee High School in Shawnee, OK before attending Oklahoma State University for two years and returning to Shawnee to work as a secretary at Oklahoma Baptist University. Lynn was a private pilot and worked part-time for the Civil Air Patrol. In the early 1970’s she moved to Florida and worked for the Florida Secretary of State in the Division of Corporations. She transferred to Florida Dept. of Revenue in 1977 where she met her husband Harry A. “Al” Baucom and was married in Aug. 1977. Lynn also worked for non-profit organizations in the 1980’s (Tallahassee Housing Assoc.).
Lynn is survived by her husband; daughter, Kimberly Baucom; sister-in-law, Ann Barnes, and brother-in-law, Jack W. Barnes.
Lynn is predeceased by her parents Arthur and Lavon Jackman.
Services were held Mar. 23, 2026, at Walker Funeral & Cremation Service in Shawnee, OK. Lynn was laid to rest privately next to her parents at Fairview Cemetery in Shawnee.
