Mary Yvonne Zimmerman passed away Oct. 5, 2025. Mary was born Mar. 4, 1947, in Tecumseh, OK to Reverend Henry and Doris Coppinger. She graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1965. In the following years, she owned and operated Mary’s Beauty Shop. Eventually, she was employed by the Tecumseh Police Department and then, the Pottawatomie Sherriff’'s Office, from where she retired. In 1988, Mary married Fred Zimmerman.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Doris Coppinger.
She is survived by her husband, Fred, of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Jarrod and Shayla Gentry; granddaughter and husband, Mekayla and Seth Weaver; granddaughter, Melena Gentry; nephews, David and Chris Qualls; niece, Gina Wylie; great nephew and wife, Brett and Taylor Wylie; niece, Ashley Qualls; sister, Martha Sneed; step-son and wife, Nathan and Naomi Zimmerman; step-daughters and husbands, Nancy and Danny Cochran, Linda and Robert Bridge; grandchildren, Christina, Candice, Matthew, William, Sarah, Kelly and Nathanael; great-grandchildren, Meagan, Tristan, Declan, Rowan, Sadie, Vaden Loy, Sybil, Rowan, Dorian and Drake.
Visitation will be from 9am to 8 pm Oct. 10, 2025 at Cooper Funeral Home and continue until time of service. Graveside service will be held at 11 am, Oct. 11, 2025 at Tecumseh Cemetery Pavilion, Tecumseh, OK with Chaplain, Lieutenant Colonel Nathan Zimmerman, United States Army, Retired, officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
