Maura Dizon Peterson passed away on Jun 2, 2022. Maura was born on November 30, 1945 on Siquijor Island, the Republic of the Philippines to Pablo and Gregoria Dizon.
Maura was the fourth of six children. She attended Foundation University, Dumaguete City graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics Education.
Maura is survived by her husband Stephen Peterson of Shawnee; son, Mario D. and wife, Sarah Warren-Peterson, of Hiroshima, Japan; sisters: Candelaria Ligon of Dumaguete City, Philippines and Theresa Dizon Smith and her husband Tony Smith of Algood, Tennessee; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews in the Philippines, United States, Canada, and the Middle East.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Maura at 10am on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at St. Benedict Catholic Church with Reverend Joseph P. Schwarz officiating. Following the Mass, Maura will be laid to rest at the Calvary Cemetery in Shawnee. Arrangements are under the direction of Walker Funeral & Cremation Service.
