Mona Mae Ray passed away on Oct. 23, 2025. She was born in Prague, OK, on July 23, 1941, to Montague Akins and Ollie Mae (Brown) Akins.
Mona married John Ray in TX in 1988. She worked as a secretary at Southwestern Bell and AT&T for 30 years. She was a longtime member of the Sharon Baptist Church where she was the director of the nursery.
Mona was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Mitchell Booker; and sister, Barbara Drew.
Loving survivors are her husband, John Ray; daughters, Tracey Foster and husband Ivan, and Rowan Moore; sons: Kevin Moore and wife DeAnna, Monte Moore and wife Shawna, Karl Moore, and stepson Stewart Ray and wife Crystal; 12 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members; and a host of friends.
A funeral service will be held on Oct. 30, 2025, 2 pm, at Sharon Baptist Church, 19002 S. Gordon Cooper Dr., Shawnee, OK. Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery in Meeker, OK.
