Pearl Ilene Newport passed away on June 28, 2022 . She was born on October 15, 1945, in Santa Monica, California to Robert and Pearl Wendlandt. She worked for Pacific Bell in Los Angeles for over 30 years before relocating to Shawnee. She then worked for the State of Oklahoma at the Pottawatomie County Health Department, as a clerk, for almost 20 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Pearl Wendlandt. Survivors include her daughter, Tami Smith and Son-in-Law, Brian of Meeker, grandsons, Brandon Smith of Shawnee and Chase Smith of Meeker, three great-granddaughters, Nora, Ember, and Cheva, and brother, Robert Wendlandt and wife Cheryl of Simi Valley, California.
Services were held on July 2, 2022, at Tecumseh Cemetery.
