Phyllis Gale Johnson Hilton was born Jan. 22, 1935, to Melva and Cosette Johnson in Prague, Oklahoma. She died on Apr. 30, 2022. She moved with her family to Shawnee at the age of 7.

Phyllis had two brothers, Paul Johnson, her older brother who preceded her in death while killed in action in the Korean War and younger brother Melvin Johnson of Shawnee.

Phyllis was a virtuoso pianist, loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

A devout Christian, she played the organ for decades at the First Church of God in Shawnee. Known for her sense of humor, smile, and helpful attitude, she will be missed by many friends and relatives. She retired from Tinker AFB including serving as the receptionist for the Commanding General of the Air Logistics Command receiving the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents and brother Paul.

She is survived by her daughter Sherri (Ricky) Streight, son Randy (Rhonda) Hilton; eight grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Melvin (Loretta) Johnson and his family.

A new angel has entered heaven. A farewell gravesite service will take place Thursday, May 5 at 2 pm at Resthaven.
