Ray Dean Littleton of Prague, OK, passed from this world on Nov. 27, 2021, at the age of 64. Ray was born on Feb. 20, 1957, in Shawnee. He was the son of Roy Littleton and Harriet “Adel” Lanier. He was raised on a dairy farm in Tecumseh, attending Tecumseh Public Schools. Ray was a 1975 graduate of Tecumseh High School.
Ray had a multitude of skills and talents— there was not anything that he couldn’t fix or figure out. He went “all-in” on every endeavor. At the time of his graduation, Ray was the youngest to ever complete the law enforcement training program known as CLEET. He worked for several years for the Prague Police Department and Morgan Well Service. He also excelled as a welder and worked for many years as a machinist for Central Plastics, where he retired after more than 20 years.
In his spare time and then into retirement, he took to building and creating things. He hand poured bullets and buckshot from lead, created his own machinery to complete projects and was an avid reloader and fisherman. He could fix and build anything he put his mind to. You could certainly call him the “ultimate handyman.”
Ray was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He met his loving wife Shirley in 1983 and the two were married on Feb. 14, 1984. They were happily married for over 37 years. Like everything else, Ray went “all-in” with his family. He was a respectful, loving, non-judgmental, supportive father and grandfather. Ray enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, often keeping them entertained with his jokes and pranks.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Barbara Burns; and his son, Steve “Buster” Smith.
He is survived by his loving wife of 37.5 years, Shirley Kay Littleton; children, Julie McPhail, Amy Littleton, JanaRae and Aaron McBride; grandchildren, Morgan and Michael, Stevie and Brenden, Cameron, Cadence and Hezekiah Ray; brother, Bill Evans and wife Barbara; and a whole host of extended family and close friends.
Visitation is scheduled for 6-8 pm on Thursday, Dec. 2, 2021 at Parks Brothers Funeral Service.
Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service of Prague. An online guestbook is available at www.parksbrothers.net
