Raymond F. Baker, 84, of Macomb, OK, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2022, in Shawnee.

He was born August 24, 1937, to R.M. and Lula Mae (Thoma) Baker in Tribbey, OK.

Raymond grew up in South Pottawatomie County and lived in Oklahoma City for many years before settling in Macomb, where he has resided for the past 33 years.

He attended Maud Public Schools in his younger years and graduated from Capitol Hill High School in Oklahoma City.

Raymond proudly served his country in the Army National Guard.

He married Roylyn Jean Hamilton on May 10, 1960, in Prague, OK.

Raymond had many jobs before becoming a firefighter for the Oklahoma City Fire Department, where he spent 20 years, retiring in 1986. He was a farmer most of his life and enjoyed raising livestock.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, visiting with other people, and especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his son, Roy Baker; granddaughter, Haliegh Harbin; his parents; one brother; and five sisters.

Those left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 62 years, Roylyn Baker of the home; sons, Richard Baker and Randall and Teresa Baker; daughter, Regina Harbin; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Viola Howell and Classie Anthony; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other extended family and friends.

Services were held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 16, 2022 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jason Lee, Romulus Baptist Church and Chaplain Darrell Witten, Heartland Hospice of Shawnee officiating. Burial followed at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
