Reverend Kyle Jay Gipp passed away December 8, 2022. Kyle was born August 26, 1979, in Fort Yates, North Dakota on the Standing Rock Reservation to Robin D. Tiger and Miles J. Gipp. He descended from the Lakota Sioux, Muscogee, Seminole, and Sac and Fox Nations.
Kyle graduated from Shawnee High School in 1997, serving in the Army Reserves from 1997 to 2001. Following his military service, he surrendered to the ministry. Kyle married Jamie A. Burgess on June 4, 2005. At his passing, Kyle was serving as Associate Pastor of Indian Nations Baptist Church in Seminole, OK.
Kyle was preceded in death by his father Miles J. Gipp, maternal grandparents Rev. William and Wanda Tiger, and paternal grandparents Elaine V. Gipp and Francis Gipp. He is survived by his wife Jamie A. Gipp, children River Postoak-Gipp, Mia Gipp, Ahlijah Gipp, and Wambai-ska Tiger; mother Robin Tiger, brothers Isaiah Marshall, Anthony Marshall, Jr., Mekko Gayton, and Levi Tiger, sisters Alexandra Marshall and Tara Gipp.
Services were held on December 12, at Indian Nations Baptist Church with burial following at Johnson Cemetery.
