Robert Lee Jones, born April 19, 1951, in Bridgeville, DE, passed away on April 5, 2026, Easter Sunday, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, after a very long battle with COPD. After serving in the Marines, which led him to move to California, he earned a bachelor’s degree in business. His career began with service as a police officer in Oceanside, CA. He then began his lifelong career at San Onofre Power Plant. After 32 years, he retired in 2012 as a nuclear security compliance coordinator. Along the way, he married Shelley Hall-Schwaben in San Marcos, CA, in 2003. After retirement, the couple then moved to Oklahoma to be closer to family.
Bob was preceded in death by his stepfather, John D. Wilkerson; mother, Grace M. Wilkerson; father, Hunter Jones; sister, Joyce Hamada; and son, Kenny Coleman.
Survivors include his wife, Shelley Jones; sons, Rob Jones and wife Valerie, John Jones, and Kyle Schwaben; daughters, Carrie Stanek and husband Charles and Julie Schwaben; amazing sister, Bonnie Hatcher and husband Gary; brother, John Wilkerson and wife Sandy; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous other extended family members.
