Ruth Joy Hulin passed away January 2, 2023.
Ruth was born in Tecumseh December 3, 1930 to Mahlon Sr and Gladys McKellar. Ruth was a proud 1948 graduate of Tecumseh High School. She possessed a wealth of knowledge of the town’s history and enjoyed sharing it as a charter member of the Tecumseh Historical Society. She married Lavon Hulin in 1947 and shared a full life together for over 74 years before his passing in 2021.
She was preceded in death by her sisters: Mary Ann and Patricia; brothers Mahlon Jr. and David (Hud); her parents and her husband.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons Steve (Diane) Hulin of Aledo, TX, Tony (Beth) Hulin of Del Rio, TX; daughters Jennifer (David) Bourland of Seminole, OK and Laurie Hulin of Earlsboro, OK; Grandchildren: Jeffrey (Crystal) Bourland, Holly (Jay) Sparks, Marisa Hulin, Robyn (Jake) Carey, Hannah (Eric) Scott and Sophie (Matt) Purke and 11 great grandchildren; Tanner, Hayley, Gabby, Tatum, Miranda, Liam, Finley, Amelia, Ivy, Hadley and Josie.
A celebration of Ruth’s life will he held Friday, January 13, 2023 at 2 pm at Resthaven Funeral Home and Memorial Park, Shawnee. A visitation will occur Thursday Janury 12, 2023 4 pm to 8 pm at Resthaven. In lieu of flowers, remembrances will be appreciated to honor her passion for preserving Tecumseh history.
