Sandra Jean Gowin passed away October 14, 2022. Sandra was born November 11, 1960 in Shawnee to Carl Eugene and Lillie Amanda (Evans) Gowin. She attended Faith 7 School and graduated from Shawnee High School. She worked in the High School cafeteria until her health declined. She participated in the first Special Olympics and competed every year until 2011. She attended every summer camp with Father Paul Zahler. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church.
Survived by her brother: Rick Gowin of Shawnee; 4 Step-Brothers: Jimmy Don Carter, Mack Carter, Johnny Jones and Jeff Jones; 3 Step-sisters: Connie Rawls, Kathy Rawls and Jerri Ann Jackson. Step-Father: Jimmy Carter and Step-Mother: Joyce Gowin and a special friend: Ronnie Sharp and several Nieces, Nephews and other family members.
Services were held October 18, 2022 at Temple Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Craig and Fr. Paul Zahler, O.S.B. officiating. Burial followed in Tecumseh Cemetery.
