Stephen “Steve” Franklin Hurt passed away July 18, 2025. Steve was born on Dec. 4, 1954 to Clyde and Betty Hurt in Henryetta, OK. He graduated from Dos Palos High School in 1973 where he lettered in football and wrestling. He coached high school football for nearly thirty years total between both Firebaugh and Tranquillity high schools. He also coached high school basketball for several years in Firebaugh. He was also a world champion arm wrestler for nearly 25 years. Steve married Kellie in 1987.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Betty.
He is survived by his wife, Kellie, of 38 years; his four sons, Jason, Travis, Stephen, and Ricky, and one daughter, Ashley; his grandchildren, Chris, Ashton, Peyton, Stephen, and Georgia. He also leaves behind a loving sister, Julie Calvert, and brother, Matt Hurt, and many nieces and nephews.
Services were held July 28, 2025 at Resthaven Funeral Home and Memorial Park in Shawnee, OK.
