    Waneva Flora Zell “Neva” Everett, 82, of Tecumseh, OK, died Jan. 13, 2022, in Tecumseh.

    She was born Nov. 5, 1939, in Tecumseh, OK, to Walter William and Velma Zell (Poff) Yoder.

    Neva was born in Tecumseh, but being the child of a Church of God minister, she moved around a lot. She has lived in Tecumseh for the last 42 years.

    Neva graduated from Daniel Webster High School in 1957.

    She married Jesse Copeland Everett on Dec. 27, 1981, in Tecumseh.

    Neva worked for DHS as a Supervisor and retired in 1991 after 31 years of service. The next 15 years she spent lovingly caring for foster children. Neva was always in her kitchen, cooking and sharing her love of Jesus with her family. She was a very active member of Cross Connection Church (formerly Oak Park Church) in Shawnee.

    Neva was a selftaught pianist. She and her siblings had a gospel singing group when they were children.

    She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; brother, Warren Walter Yoder; and three sisters, Wilma Souders, Wanda Souders, and Sharon Short.

    Survivors include her daughter, Vanessa Headrick of Tecumseh; step daughter, Elaine and Bill Sutton of AR; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; “daughter,” Jean Ann Elliott; several nieces and nephews; two dogs; one cat; and many other family and friends.

    Graveside Service was Jan. 18, 2022, at Tecumseh Cemetery with Ken Kerbo, Cross Connection Church, Shawnee, OK, officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh, OK
