Wilma Sue (Tiger) Gomez passed away September 21, 2022.
She was born February 28, 1962 to Ronald and Dorothy (Whiteshirt) Tiger in Norman, Oklahoma.
Wilma was raised in Little Axe. She attended boarding schools in Concho and Lawton.
She married Abelardo Martinez Gomez in 1988. He preceded her in death on September 17, 2021.
Wilma was a proud member of the Absentee Shawnee Tribe. She was preceded in death by her husband; infant daughter, Celina Jo Tiger; parents, Ronald and Dorothy Tiger; 5 brothers, Ronnie Whiteshirt, Jr, Daniel Tiger, Steve Tiger, Billy Jack Tiger and Roland Tiger.
Those left to cherish her memory are 3 daughters, Rachel Sue Island of El Reno, OK, Summer “Baby Girl” Tiger of Bethany, OK and Petra M. Gomez of Oklahoma City, OK; 2 sons and 1 daughter-inlaw, Martin and Adriana Huerta of Oklahoma City, OK and Abelardo Martinez Gomez, Jr. of Oklahoma City, OK; 19 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 5 sisters, Carol Ann Tiger, Karen Morales, Mary Louise Tiger, Toni Tiger and Donna Tiger; and other extended family and friends.
Tribal Rites were September 24, 2022 at Brendle Corner with Glenn Mann officiating. Burial followed September 25, 2022 at Tiger Family Cemetery in Little Axe under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
