Gilbert Declares 2022 IFYR A Success

The dust has settled, and the announcer’s booth is now silent at the Heart of Oklahoma Exposition Center. But all last week, in the morning and evening, it was the place for all things roping and riding.

Creed Humphrey Returns To Shawnee For Summer Pride Clinic

Kansas City Chiefs center Creed Humphrey was back in his hometown of Shawnee this week, sharing his athletic knowledge with the younger generation. Humphrey was the featured guest at the Shawnee Summer Pride Clinic, July 11-14, held at Jim Thorpe Stadium.

SEFF hosts annual Blues On Broadway

A scaled-down Blues on Broadway drew a small crowd to Tom Terry Park, in Shawnee, on June 18. Unlike last year’s wine-tasting with several winery booths and a beer garden housed under a large tent, this year saw one beer booth and one winery booth.

This year's celebration also included a prayer service, history presentation, domino competition, storytelling, and a program that included musical performances, a fashion show, and speakers. Shawnee Forward also worked with the Dunbar Heights Community to hold a Pickleball Tournament at OBU.

Remembering Those Who Gave All For Our Freedoms

On Monday, May 30, Shawnee had three Memorial Day Programs from which to choose: at Resthaven Cemetery, Fairview Cemetery and Oklahoma Veterans Memorial Park (Woodland Veterans Park).
