County Superintendents discuss benefits of the Education Sales tax

Citizens of Pottawatomie County will have the opportunity to make the half-cent Education Sales Tax permanent on April 1, 2025. The Countywide & Sun has begun visits with the 14 school district superintendents in the county to hear why this tax is beneficial for the schools and the students.

From Response To Recovery: Picking Up the Pieces After Tornado

Pottawatomie County has officially transitioned from response to recovery regarding the tornado destruction on April 19. Chad Larman, Pottawatomie County Director of Emergency Management, addressed this at the weekly Pottawatomie County Board of County Commissioners meeting on Monday, May 22.

Touch-A-Truck Grows in Participation & Attendance

The Touch-A-Truck and Beyond event has grown in both participants and attendance in its second year.

Protestors Share Court Stories

It was a windy afternoon for a protest Friday, Mar. 3, outside of the Pottawatomie County Courthouse. Signs were flying as a small group of citizens shared their testimonies on their experiences with the Pottawatomie and Lincoln County court systems.
