Dale Pirates Win 22nd State Baseball Championship, Forsythe Coaches Three Sons At State

The Dale Pirates Baseball Team is living up to its tradition. On Sat., Oct. 8, the eighth-ranked Pirates played the Class A State Championship against top-ranked Silo. Held at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark in OKC, the final game was a victorious 18-11.
Dale junior Karsen Griggs slides into home, as the Minco catcher waits for the throw, during the third inning of the State Quarterfinal game on Oct. 6 at the USA Softball Hall of Fame Stadium in OKC. The Lady Pirates played a hard-fought game the whole seven innings and won, 3-2. They went on to the Semifinals with Pocola, but lost 2-6.

In May, siblings Cora and Cord Bender walked across the stage at the OK State FFA Convention in Tulsa to accept their State FFA Degrees. As seniors, the brief moment was bittersweet. They were representing the Dale High School FFA Chapter and wearing their FFA jackets for the last time.
