A Look Back At A Teaching Career That Began at New Hope School

In 1961, Donald Rominger, Jr. was 21 years old and just venturing out on his teaching career. He was a 1958 Tecumseh graduate who had completed his studies at Oklahoma Baptist University in three years.

Haney Takes A Bus Tour Through Spain, Portugal

From Mar.2 to Mar. 16, 2024, Arthenia Haney vacationed in Spain and Portugal by bus tour, which has a 6-hour time difference from Oklahoma.These countries sit on the Iberian Peninsula between the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean.
The Munchkins fill the stage in colorful costumes to sing and dance during the Tecumseh Middle School and High School production of "The Wizard of Oz" on April 28. The Munchkins were played by Addison Arnold, Levi Carter, Lydia Clagg (center), Dani Clark, Ramona Griffin, Reegan Kirby, Lilly Klutts, Camryn Medley, Ethan Quinn, Serenity Shackleford and Abigail Weeks (not in order). They gave three performances for all the Tecumseh students and two for the public.

City Of McLoud Votes For Inquiries, Investigations

The McLoud City Council voted unanimously on Thursday, April 25, to authorize City Attorney Mat Thomas to inquire into and investigate the City Manager’s offi ce when Buck Day was the City Manager.

Following the approval of the two Shawnee Public Schools Propositions on April 2, a bond sale was held during a special session of the Shawnee Board of Education on April 29.
Relay for Life of Pottawatomie County Co-Chairs Harriet Byers and Shannon Tiger have been preparing for this year’s event, which will be tomorrow (April 26), 7 pm, at the Don and Jenetta Sumner Field House on the OBU Green Campus in Shawnee. The “Re-Lei for a Cure” was postponed last year due to the April 19 tornado, and in 2022, the event was rebuilding after the Covid-19 pandemic. Countywide & Sun/ Natasha Dunagan
