Oklahoma State Representative Danny Sterling, right, presents a citation of recognition on behalf of the Oklahoma House of Representatives to Mary Carter, of Tecumseh, during a reception at SpOKeLAHOMA on May 3. Carter was inducted into the Oklahoma Journalism Hall of Fame on May 2 at the University of Central Oklahoma. Sterling read the citation aloud before presenting it. He said Carter began working for the Countywide News at age 15, performing various jobs in the office.
