Securing Our Elections From Foreign Interference

Oklahoma has some of the strongest protections in place to ensure a secure election system. Other states cannot say the same. It is the American people’s right to choose their elected officials, but over the years our foreign adversaries have found ways to interfere in our democratic systems.

CAPITOL REPORT

This interim, I once again want to share the major bills from a variety of policy areas that the Legislature approved this year.By the time we wrapped up the 59th Legislature, we had achieved some major accomplishments for the state of Oklahoma.

Tecumseh Golden Age Center

The members of the Golden Age Center appreciate the air conditioning and the comfortable building during this summer’s invasion of an early heat wave. We enjoyed the musical talent of Catlin Love who played the piano for us.

The Summer Heat

My floatie bumped against the sides of the swimming pool as I lazily paddled around for the last time this summer. We bought the pool at an end-of-summer sale six years ago. It’s barely wide enough to fit my blow-up float. I easily bounce from pool wall to pool wall without much effort.

Major Education Accomplishments

The Legislature adjourned sine die on May 30, meaning we are now in our “interim” period, which means we’re between regular sessions.Our next session starts in February after all the members are officially sworn in in November.

Capitol Comments

The service members who put their lives on the line every day for their country deserve to have their nation put them first. The National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) is one of the most important pieces of legislation that Congress works on every year.
