McLoud juniors, twins Chloe and Claire Mapira, take the ball up court during the Class 4A State Quarterfinal game against Harrah, at the OG&E Coliseum in OKC on March 10. The Lady Redskins won, 44-30, and advance to the Semifinals today (March 12) at 6 pm in Yukon. If they win, they will move on to the Finals on Friday, March 13, at 7:45 pm, back at the Coliseum. McLoud's Remy Whitney jumps into her dad's/coach's arms after winning her State Final match on Feb. 28. Her father, Coach Chad Whitney, was also named Class 5A Girls Coach of the Year, making them the fourth father-daughter duo in state history to both win individual state titles, according to Oklahoma Wrestling.

Last year, McLoud’s Lady Redskins Wrestling Team won the State Championship for the first time.This year, they not only returned to win the Class 5A State Championship, but they broke a record while they were at it.

The Lady Savages ended the season at Regionals against Ada, but the T-Town ladies didn’t go down easy.Early in the game, it lookded like Tecumseh would end the year without a fight and was down, 19-6, at the end of the first quarter. They were in a deep hole at halftime trailing, 279.
