William Hugh “Bill“ Barkley

William Hugh Barkley passed away Feb. 16, 2024, at the age 88. Visitation will be from 3 pm to 7 pm, Sunday, Feb. 25, 2024 and continue through service time. Service will be 2 pm, Monday, Feb. 26, 2024, at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel.

Joan Melva Zemke

Joan M. Zemke, age 93 passed away on Feb. 15, 2024. Joan was born Aug. 8, 1930, in Rochester, MN to Milton and Alta (Love) Fiegel. She married Glen Zemke and his job relocated him to Shawnee, OK in 1975. Once arriving in Shawnee, Joan set to making her home beautiful.

Darcee Dee (Baptiste) Yancey

Darcee Yancey passed away Feb. 20, 2024. Darcee was born Dec. 6, 1961 in Shawnee, OK to Marion J. Baptiste and Neoma (Pensoneau) Baptiste. She married the love of her life, Dwight Yancey on Sept. 7th, 1985 in Shawnee. Together they were co-owners of Shawnee Dry Cleaners.

Donovan Abrams

Donovan Lee Abramspassed away on Feb. 17, 2024. Donovan was born on Aug. 28, 1969, in Akron, NY to Dennis Lee Abrams and Patricia Lynn (Smith) Abrams Marlin. Donovan graduated from Tecumseh High School. Donovan joined the US Navy where he faithfully served for two tours of duty.

Kimberly Craig

Kimberly Craig passed away on Feb. 14, 2024. Kimberly Lorene Craig was born on May 12, 1960, in Biloxi, MS. She married Dennis Craig on Jan. 20, 1978. Kimberly directed the Shawnee Girls Softball Association and introduced fast pitch softball to the small town of OK.

Bonnie Burrough

Bonnie Burrough passed away Feb. 10 2024, after an illness at the age of 89 years. Bonnie was born Mar. 1934, in Dale, OK to William and Helen Garner. She graduated from Dale High School in 1952. She married Roy Burrough on Oct. 16, 1953.

Billy “Bill” Washburn

Billy Joe “Bill” Washburn, 95, passed away on Feb. 10, 2024 at Oklahoma City, OK. Bill was born on Mar. 29, 1928 to Lee and Ora (Hulin) Washburn in Holdenville, OK. He was raised in the Bethel Acres community. Bill married Margie Nell Bowden married on Sept. 20, 1947, in Shawnee, OK.

Marvin Smith

Marvin Lee Smith, 63, of Shawnee, OK, passed away Feb. 8, 2024. Marvin was born Feb. 1, 1961 to Mickey Smith and Velma Blanchard in Norman, OK. He attended school in Noble, OK, then Ft. Sill Indian School before joining the U.S. Marine Corps, proudly serving his country.

Brenda Newnam

Brenda Sue Newnam passed away on Feb. 10, 2024. Brenda was born Oct. 29, 1966, in Midwest City, OK to Marion and Zorrena (Watson) Newnam. She graduated from Dale High-school in 1984. She received her Bachelors Degree in Animal Science at Oklahoma State University.
