County Superintendents discuss benefits of the Education Sales tax

Citizens of Pottawatomie County will have the opportunity to make the half-cent Education Sales Tax permanent on April 1, 2025. The Countywide & Sun has begun visits with the 14 school district superintendents in the county to hear why this tax is beneficial for the schools and the students.

Bethel School Board Tables Lagoon Remediation

Two Bethel Band Students Play Across Europe

This summer will be one to remember for two Bethel High School band students. Bethel graduate Summer Stiles and junior Phillip Mullendore traveled and performed with the Oklahoma Ambassadors of Music in June as they visited England, France, Switzerland, Germany and Austria.

Hannah Davidson’s Determination Leads To Success

Her doctor told her she wouldn’t be able to walk for six months, and she probably wouldn’t be able to run for eight months. But Bethel High School athlete Hannah Davidson beat those odds. The accident happened on July 4, 2021, when Davidson was tubing on Shawnee Lake.

Multiple Bethel Powerlifters Place In State Competition

Bethel Girls & Boys Powerlifting split up this week to take on tough fields for their respective State Powerlifting Meets. The Girls began the week by traveling to Choctaw Casino in Durant. Bethel was represented by two Junior High girls, Corley Steward and Stohri Reynalds.

Bethel Lady Wildcats Win Area, Tip Off At State Today

It was a tough game, but the Lady Wildcats brought home the Area Championship Friday, Mar. 3. Bethel took a 15-5 lead in the first quarter, but Silo was not giving in without a fight.
