Shawnee Recognizes Girls Swim Team, Wrestlers, Teachers

Much of the regular Shawnee Board of Education meeting on March 6 was filled with the recognition of students and teachers. There was much to celebrate. Wrestling Coach Andrew Mc-Cune introduced the wrestlers who placed at regional and state competition.

Grace, Walker Announce Retirement At School Board Meeting

Two familiar faces will be absent from the Shawnee Board of Education meetings after this school year. Both Superintendent Dr. April Grace and Office 1 Board Member Larry Walker announced their resignations during the Jan. 9 meeting.

Grant to Pay $1.58 Million for Four Electric Buses

The Shawnee Public School Bus Fleet will eventually be welcoming four electric school buses. Estimated time of arrival is a year, and it is all made possible by a $1.58 million federal “Clean Air Grant.

After an executive session to discuss personnel issues, the Shawnee Board of Education returned to the meeting room to vote.

Some Shawnee Schools To Receive Copiers, Flooring and Roof

For the Shawnee Board of Education, there were several housekeeping items on the agenda before the end of the fiscal year, June 30. Plus, there were a few summer projects to discuss at the June 6 meeting.

Shawnee Students Celebrate School Board Recognition Month

A reception was held before the Jan. 10 Shawnee Board of Education meeting at the Shawnee Public Schools Central Office.
