A New Sound System Coming To Tecumseh City Chambers

The Tecumseh City Council approved buying a microphone and speaker system for the council chambers from Video Reality in the amount of $23,109.29 at the short Nov. meeting on Nov. 4. This will replace the non-working/ outdated current system.
Cohen Klupenger, 4, of Shawnee, won the 5-and-Under Costume Contest during the Enchanted Woodland event, held at Woodland Veterans Park in Shawnee on Oct. 26. Shawnee Director of Tourism Stacy Cramer Moore estimates there were about 40 entries each for the two age divisions of the costume contest. Moore said she suggested to the organizations and businesses who had booths to bring 500 pieces of candy and most ran out. Countywide & Sun/Natasha Dunagan

Dressed in a pharoah hat, Mabee-Gerrer Museum of Art Docent Dick Trim speaks about the mummification process, as Princess Tutu lays in front of him, during Mummy Day at the museum on Oct. 26. Tutu was mummified in 332 B.C. in the Faiyum district of Egypt, and was gifted to the Glen Island Museum in 1898, according to https://www.mgmoa-gallery.com/tutu-mummy-cnxk. When that museum went bankrupt, Father Gregory Gerrer purchased Tutu at auction. The MGMOA also has an unidentified mummy from the Roman era.
