Vanessa Jones is not the science teacher most people remember from high school. She doesn’t have textbooks in her classroom, and she doesn’t have her students memorizing facts.Jones uses a phenomenon-based storyline approach to teaching, and her students work together to solve science mysteries.

SLT’s season finale: “Charlie Brown” musical opens April 24

“You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown”, the longtime favorite stage musical based on the “Peanuts” comic book characters created by Charles Schulz is Shawnee Little Theatre’s season finale opening April 24.This production marks the third time in its 59-year history that SLT has presented the show.

Pleasant Grove recognized by Shawnee Commission

The Shawnee City Commission meeting began with the recognition of the Pleasant Grove Girls Basketball State Championship Win. Coach Tramble noted that she was an Pleasant Grove Alumni and also part of a three-peat Championship team in her younger days.
