Cedric Rosser McDonald, 89, of Shawnee, Ok, passed away on Mar. 3, 2026, from complications due to multiple myeloma cancer. Rosser, as he was known to all, was born on Nov. 5, 1936, to Chester and Nellyne McDonald. He graduated from Shawnee High School in 1954 and attended Oklahoma Baptist University. He married Glenda Lou Lane on Aug. 2nd, 1956. Rosser worked in radio and television. He was a disc jockey at a radio station in Cushing then on television in Ada, Tulsa Richardson, TX, Fort Worth, TX and director of numerous Christian television shows until his retirement in 2002. After his retirement, Rosser continued to serve the Lord in numerous medical mission trips to Texas/Mexico border towns and authored the book “Real Prison Real Freedom”. Additionally, Rosser served as a deacon in multiple churches. Rosser received eight Telly Awards and was nominated for two Emmy Awards during his time at the RTVC. Rosser returned home to Shawnee to live with family at the family farm in 2022.

Rosser was preceded in death by his beloved Glenda and his grandson, Bronson Addison.

He is survived by his children Ronda Lynn Cooper (husband Kent), Rhoda Lane Addison (husband Jimmy), Curtis Rosser McDonald (wife Candi), and Renda Lou Welch (husband Christopher), seven grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren who called him Pawpaw.

Services were held on Mar. 7th, 2026, at Temple Baptist Church, Shawnee, OK with a graveside service immediately afterward at Fairview Cemetery. Additionally, a memorial service will be held at Ridglea Baptist Church in Fort Worth, TX on Mar. 21st at noon.
