Gordon Smith Richards Jr., D.Ph., 84, passed away on Aug. 29th, 2026. He was born on Sept. 24th, 1941 in Shawnee, OK to Gordon Smith Richards, Sr. and Sylvia Richards (Hanson).
Gordon graduated from Shawnee High School in 1959. After graduation, he attended Oklahoma Baptist University for Pre-Pharmacy studies before attending the University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy and graduating with a degree in Pharmacy in 1963. Gordon was proud to continue the family legacy of pharmacists in the Richards family.
Gordon is preceded in death by his wife Mary Jane Richards (Jordan); his beloved sister, Margaret Ann Lindell (Richards); and his brother, Samuel Paul Richards.
He is survived by his two sons, Jeffrey J. Richards and Samuel V. Richards; his daughters- in-law, Cheri and Angela; sister-in-law, Kim Ly (Paul) Richards; and his four grandchildren: Jordan, Caleb, Amelia, and Sebastian.
A celebration of life service will be held on Nov. 28th, 2026 at 1 pm at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 501 N Broadway Ave, Shawnee, OK 74801.
