Shawnee Is Ready For Some Friday Night Lights

After a summer of preparation, the Shawnee Wolves football team will kick off their long-anticipated season at Seminole this Friday night at 7:30 p.m. After qualifying for the state tournament last year, the Wolves are looking to continue that momentum into this season.

Bethel Hosts Classen In Season Opener

Bethel will open its 2022 football season tomorrow night when they host the Comets of the Classen School of Advanced Studies (SAS) at Northeast, which is located in Oklahoma City. It will be the first meeting between the two schools.

Nobody, not even a sportswriter, likes to say a season was disappointing but the Savages 2021 season was, at the very least, less than desirable, or expected. A season that began with great anticipation and ended with a 3-7 record is, to say the least, frustrating.

THS Volleyball Gains Momentum

Lady Savage Volleyball continues to gain momentum on the way to a 9-3 record before finishing out last week facing some tough competition in the Community Christian School Tournament. On Tuesday, the T-Town ladies faced Blanchard on the road and came back with a 3-1 win.

Tecumseh Teams Place 3rd And 6th In Purcell Meet

Tecumseh Cross Country began their season at the Purcell Meet on Tuesday last week and the Savages finished in third place out of the nine teams competing while the Lady Savages finished 6th out of 11 teams. Logan Haworth claimed second place for the Savages.

Lady Wildcats Off To A Hot Start

The Bethel High School softball team is off to a great start this fall with a 12-6 record and its first tournament championship in five years at the Prague Tournament on August 20. The Wildcats rallied to beat Prague, Heritage Hall and finally, Elk City in the championship.
