Bethel Lady Wildcats Punch Ticket To State

The Bethel Lady Wildcats traveled to Ada for the first round of the Area Tournament on Friday, Mar. 4. The Jones Lady Longhorns took the lead in the first quarter of the tournament’s first round and kept the pressure on, outscoring Bethel through the first three quarters of the game.

Lady Savages End Successful Season In Area Play

A very successful season ended in the Area Tournament last week for the Lady Savages with a loss to Fort Gibson, an eventual State Tournament team. Fort Gibson came into the playoffs as the #8 ranked team in 4A and lived up to their reputation as a defensive heavyweight.

Rochelle, Cash, Anderson Place At State Wrestling

Shawnee wrestlers Spencer Rochelle, Logan Cash, and Sam Anderson placed at the OSSAA Class 5A State Wrestling Tournament on Feb. 25-26. Rochelle placed third in the 170-pound weight class; Cash placed third in the 220-pound weight class; and, Anderson placed fourth in the 195-pound weight class.

Bethel Falls Just Short Of State After Four Overtimes

The Marlow Outlaws sent the Bethel Wildcats to the consolation bracket Friday, Mar. 4 with a 41-33 win. The Wildcats returned to Ada Saturday to face Kingston for their final shot at a spot at the Big House, but it wasn’t meant to be.

Bethel’s Lady Wildcats are heading to their Area Tournament after winning both their regional matches on opposite sides of the weekend. Saturday, Feb. 26, the Lady Wildcats faced off against Davis, in the opening round of regionals.
