The Shawnee High School Girls Swim Team won first at the Class 5A State Competition held on Feb. 18 at the Edmond Public Schools Aquatic Center. Their overall team score was 255, and the boys team ranked fourth with 179.

Lady Wildcats Roll Over The Atoka Wampus Cats

The Bethel Lady Wildcats soared to District Champions with a 66-23 win over the Atoka.
Bethel attacked the Wampus Cats with a 10 point lead in the first quarter. By halftime, the Lady Wildcats outscored Atoka 29-8.
The Ladies needed two points in the third quarter to match its first-half score.

THS Savages Outrun The Pirates For District Championship

The Savage round ballers took a long trip to Poteau last Friday night and came home with a District Championship as they turned a close game into a runaway game over the Pirates.

Lady Savages Open Regional Play At Home

The Tecumseh Lady Savages are District Champions and headed home to begin Regional Tournament play. After traveling three hours to Poteau and putting a convincing 58-27 win over the Lady Pirates, the T-Town ladies get to play on their home floor as they host a subregional tomorrow (Friday).

The Bethel Wildcats took an early lead in the first quarter Saturday and finished the night as District Champions.
In the first half of the game against Atoka, DJ Whitten netted four treys. Bray Bussell came back from halftime to lead the offense with ten points in the third quarter.

Tecumseh Grapplers Headed To State

Two Savages have qualified for the State Wrestling Tournament, and another is a state alternate. The Savages competed in the Regional Tournament in Clinton last week and finished 12th as a team.
JD Sigman, a sophomore, placed third in regionals wrestling at 145-pounds.

After a tough loss at Bethel last week on Monday (see last week’s Countywide & Sun), the Savage round ballers traveled to Oklahoma City to meet Mt. St. Mary (MSM) on Tuesday night and dug themselves a hole early that they could never climb out of.

Lady Wildcats Notch Three More Wins

The Bethel Lady Wildcats wrapped up their 17-3 regular season with three road wins.
On Thursday the Lady Wildcats blazed to a 74- 21 win over Mt. St. Mary’s. Parker Stevenson and Josie Megehee both scored in the double digits with 27 and 25 points, respectively.

Fire Coach Looks Forward To History-Making Inaugural Season

Experienced hands will guide the team when the Potawatomi Fire takes the floor for its inaugural season with The Basketball League.
Roaming the sidelines as the Fire’s head coach will be Derrick Rowland, a Brookhaven, New York, native who most recently coached for TBL’s Albany Patroons.
