Cleveland, McClain, Pottawatomie counties, OK. December 1, 2023 – The Pioneer Library System is turning a new page with a change its communities can celebrate: the elimination of fines for all ages on overdue materials.

NRC and Tecumseh Students Excel at State Speech Contest

STILLWATER— Cooper Kline, North Rock Creek, placed first in his respective category at the American Farmers & Ranchers (AFR) State Speech Contest held in Stillwater on Dec. 2. He competed in the Senior Extemporaneous category. Also, two Tecumseh students placed in their respective categories.

The National Wreaths Across America Day event, held at the W.P. Wood/THS Alumni Center on Dec. 16, may seem to be about wreaths. But it’s really Veterans Day for Christmas - a remembrance of the veterans who are no longer here to celebrate Christmas with us.

Pioneer Library Opens Four New Maker Labs

With four new Maker Labs opening in December, the Pioneer Library System invites all community members to make, create, and design at the library.

Grove School Taps Educational Sales Tax for HVAC Overhaul

Grove School was approved to go out for a bid for new HVAC units and will utilize the educational sales tax funds for the purchase of the new units. Grove Superintendent Mark Bowlan said, “We’re very blessed to have access to these types of funds. We are very appreciative.

Good things happened at the Shawnee City Commission meeting on Monday evening. A $1,286,000 contract was awarded to Downey Contracting LLC, for a total of $1,286,000.00 Santa Fe Depot roof and exterior rehabiliation.

About 200 cars were in the Cruis’n Oklahoma car show at Tecumseh High School, Sunday, Dec. 17, said organizer Jared Holt, of Jrod’s Garage on social media. Holt said they also helped about 150 families with toys, clothing, dry goods and gifts for the whole family at the W.P. Wood/THS Alumni Center.
