CREED HUMPHREY SPECIAL GUEST AT SHAWNEE SUMMER PRIDE CLINIC JULY 11-14

Shawnee alum, former University of Oklahoma All-American, and current Kansas City Chiefs center – will be the featured guest during the inaugural Shawnee Summer Pride strength and agility clinic July 11-14. The clinic is open to all Shawnee area athletes in grades 7-12 at no charge.

BHS Baseball hosts first College Prospect Camp

Bethel baseball hosted the first annual Pottawatomie County Prospect Camp on Monday, June 27 at the High School Baseball Field. The camp was designed for baseball players interested in playing at the collegiate level. Position players and pitchers attended the camp.

The Potawatomi Fire just completed a successful inaugural season after a loss in the semifinals of the Central Conference bracket of The Basketball League (TBL) playoffs.

Juneteenth Pickleball Tournament Is Successful

The Juneteenth Pickleball Tournament was held for the first time on June 18 at OBU’s Recreation and Wellness Center. It was organized by Shawnee Forward and the Dunbar Heights Community to add to the Juneteenth Celebration.

Tecumseh Hires New Head Baseball Coach

Tecumseh High School has a new head baseball coach and it’s someone who is a Tecumseh lifer and bleeds Black and Gold. Easton Marrs, a 2015 Tecumseh graduate was approved by the Tecumseh Board on Monday to lead Savage Baseball.

Michael Parsons receives Brandon Burlsworth award

The annual Bethel High School Football Banquet, sponsored by the BHS Quarterback Club, was held on May 23, wrapping up the 2021 football season with several awards. One honor that stands out is the Brandon Burlsworth Award, which is named after a University of Arkansas student.

SSC basketball coach inducted into Hall of Fame

Seminole State College Head Men’s Basketball Coach Don Tuley was inducted into the Oklahoma Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame on June 4 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Edmond. Tuley has been coaching for 43 years, nine of the years at SSC. His overall record is 708 wins and 308 losses.

Five County Graduates Play In CPN All-Star Bowl

For the second year, graduates from across the state had the chance to play in one last high school football game. Sixty-five players were invited to participate in the Second Annual Citizen Potawatomi Nation All-Star Bowl, held at Oklahoma Baptist University’s Crain Family Stadium on June 3.
