Honor Roll lists released by Oklahoma Baptist University

Oklahoma Baptist University recently announced students named to the university’s academic honor roll for the fall 2024 semester.Students who achieved a semester grade point average of 3.7 or higher on a 4.0 scale are named to the President’s Honor Roll.

County Commission Approves Funds for OBU Engineering

Pottawatomie County Commissioners approved $22,500 for a request from OBU President Dr. Heath Thomas, for assistance with building their Engineering Department, at its Jan. 21 meeting.

CVEC: Leading the State in Power Reliability

SEMINOLE, OK — Canadian Valley Electric Cooperative (CVEC) customers enjoyed the shortest power outage durations and the fewest outages among all regulated electric utilities in Oklahoma in 2023, according to the 2024 Reliability Scorecard from the Oklahoma Corporation Commission.

City Manager resigns after executive session

After the conclusion of an hours-long latenight executive session of the Shawnee City Commission meeting on Jan. 21, it was announced that Shawnee City Manager Andrea Weckmueller-Behringer has chosen to resign, effective Jan. 22 at 5 pm.

A new “Horse In The City” now on display in Shawnee

There is a new “Horse in the City” in front of the Plaza East Labyrinth Office Park at 722 E. Independence in Shawnee. His name is Tony, and he is the second horse statue in Shawnee that is a tribute to veterans.
